DHARMA/ARTE 2013: SHARED + HUMANITY
Inside Out Rap Community
Our first project in 2013 will be a continuation of our Inside Out São Paulo, expanding it to other communities and exploring the importance of music and the arts in their organization and their relationship with other communities and with society at large. It will be also an opportunity to have members of the communities participating in the conception of the project. As our Inside Out São Paulo, however, our Inside Out Rap Comunidade (Inside Out Rap Community) will be a way of revealing the human face of these communities and creating opportunities for working with them.

Inside Out São Paulo: the human face of Favela do Moinho
From March to July, we photographed those living at Favela do Moinho and those who live and work in the neighborhood. On October 12, 13 and 14, and on November 22, 23 and 24, we pasted and projected the photos, and promoted other activities for showing the human face not only of Favela do Moinho but of all of us, our shared humanity.

Seeing clearly: the practice of contemplative of photography in São Paulo
On May 4, 5, and 6, Dharma/Arte organized in Brazil the first contemplative photography activities in the tradition founded by Buddhist teacher Chögyam Trungpa. The practice of contemplative photography is a method for seeing, and photographing, your world in a fresh way, to expose the richness and beauty that is normally hidden from us.

REGULAR ACTIVITIES
D/A Online Encounters
In May 2011 Dharma/Arte started the D/A Online Encounters ― online talks and programs with teachers and artists from Brazil and abroad. These programs are a wonderful opportunity for Brazilian students and also for people from all over the world. They’re taught in English, with consecutive translation in Portuguese.
In 2012 we plan to continue our online encounters with new guests, new themes, and a new technical infrastructure that will be more reliable and have more resources.

D/A Encounters
Dharma/Arte organizes regular meetings in São Paulo, Brazil, gathering people interested in dharma, art and transformative experiences ― an opportunity for meeting people from different backgrounds and starting meaningful conversations.
These meetings include meditation, body and creative practice, study and discussion. They’re also an opportunity for exercising appreciation and experimentation ― basically, an opportunity for listening.
